Stewart Wright is the current head boys soccer coach at Payson High School. He is also an assistant coach for the girls team at Payson.
A long-time soccer coach, Stewart recently moved back to Utah from Vermont. He coached soccer for three years at St. Michael’s College in Vermont.
He recently completed a master’s degree in soccer coaching from Ohio University. He has a USSF National D License. He earned his bachelor’s degree in mathematics education from BYU.
He was the JV girls’ coach at Payson High School from 2010 until 2015, and varsity and JV boys’ head coach at Spanish Fork High School between 2007 and 2014.
Stewart’s favorite part about coaching is the contact with the players and other coaches. He enjoys talking to them and trying to help them. He learned many things in Vermont and in his master’s program that he hadn’t learned in Utah, and he’s hoping to share that knowledge with coaches and players in Utah. He wants to help create a soccer club in south Utah County that is fun and has quality.
When not coaching, Stewart loves playing and creating board games and reading books. He enjoys playing rec softball and pickleball.
